Prayer

If there is something in your life that you would like help praying for, we are always willing to accept Prayer Requests.

communion

Our Savior Lutheran Church is totally funded by Sunday morning offerings and special gifts from friends. From the electricity to the staff salaries to the hymnals in the pews, without the generosity of God's people, none of it would be possible.

"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work."
2 Corinthians 9:6-9

Sunday Morning Worship Services

8:15a.m.  is a traditional, organ led worship service using Divine Service II from Lutheran Worship and often includes a children's message and special music.

10:45a.m. is based on Divine Service II liturgy.  We include contemporary Christian music led by a worship band. It is a family friendly service, with a children's message, and the use of audio video technology to enhance the message.

* Communion is normally celebrated at 8:15am on the 1st and 3rd

Sundays and on the 2nd and 4th Sundays at 10:45am.

Seasonal worship services include:

* Thanksgiving Eve at 7pm and Thanksgiving Day at 9am

* Christmas Eve

5:30pm   Traditional "flashlight candle" service especially

                            for families with small children

7 and 9pm  Traditional Candlelight with hula

11pm  Traditional Candlelight with Holy Communion

* Christmas Day at 9am for a service of Holy Communion

Festival Service with Holy Communion (a buffet breakfast is

   served at 7:30am).

   with worship services at 7pm.

* Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and continues each Wednesday

until Holy Week with worship at 7pm. We gather on Maundy

Thursday and Good Friday at 7pm for special services.

Bible Study

On Sunday join us as we study God's Word and apply it to contemporary issues. Examples of this year's Bible studies include: "A ToolTime Marriage," "Living in a PostModern Church," and "ACTS: the Original Ancient Future Church."

On Thursdays at 9:30am from September through May we meet at the Mission Center. Call the church office to find out what we're studying now!

Nursery

Our Savior believes strongly that all children belong in worship, but we also understand some kids aren't quite ready to sit through an hour long service.

There is a NURSERY AVAILABLE for children four and under during Sunday morning worship. Our volunteers are happy to help watch your children. The nursery is located next to the sanctuary (just look for the sign that says "FaithIsland/Nursery." It opens as soon as our volunteer arrives and closes up shortly after the 10:45am service ends.

If you are interested in helping as a nursery volunteer, please speak with Pastor Mitch. A love for kids and a willingness to read a few stories or play some great games is a must!

Fellowship

Fellowship is an important part of Sunday Morning worship. Between services there is always coffee and tea available.

On the Second Sunday of each month, the LWML has a goodie bake sale featuring all sorts of homemade (and other) brownies, cookies and cakes. The proceeds of the bake sale go toward a scholarship fund for students at Our Savior Lutheran School and Lutheran High School of Hawaii.
